OUR COMMUNITY
SOUTHWEST CALGARY’S HIDDEN GEM

Spruce Cliff is a residential family-friendly community in southwest Calgary. We located just 10 minutes west of downtown between Bow Trail S.W. and the Bow River, immediately west of the Shaganappi Point Golf Course and bordered by 38 Street on the western edge.
The land for the community was annexed in 1910 by The City, and was officially established in 1950, and we primarily consist of single family homes and condos.
Views of Nose Hill Park, the river valley and the city core are available to all from the community escarpment. There are many walking and biking options available in this active outdoor community. On the community’s door step, shared with the entire city, are recreational opportunities of Edworthy Park, Lawrey Gardens, the Quarry Road Trail and Douglas Fir Trail hiking paths, and winter community access to Shaganappi Golf Course for cross-country skiing.
Spruce Cliff is home to many great community amenities like:
- Public basketball courts
- Open sports fields
- Poplar Park
- Cedar Crescent Park
- Spruce Cliff community park & playground
- Bike paths and pathways along Spruce Drive
- Wildflower Arts Centre
- Historic Quarry Road Trail and Douglas Fir Trail
In the community are the Quest School, (formerly Spruce Cliff Elementary), Alberta Health Community Services, Bow Cliff Seniors, the Calgary Bowling Club, and two small community strip malls. The community is within easy walking distance to the Westbrook Shopping Centre, the Westbrook LRT station and the Calgary Public Library – the Nicholls Family Library.
